Gooseberry Jam

We’ve taken the classic gooseberry jam and given it a proper Moran’s twist. Local Irish gooseberries form the base — tart, bright and full of character — then we fold in a few unexpected spices that warm everything up without overpowering the fruit. The result is a jam that still tastes of summer, but with a gentle spiced edge that makes it far more interesting than the usual jar.

It’s sharp enough to wake up rich meats, sweet enough for a cheese board, and versatile enough that you’ll keep finding new excuses to open it.

Three ways to use it:

1.  With roast meats — Spoon it alongside duck, pork or slow-cooked lamb. The tart gooseberry cuts through the richness while the subtle spice lifts the whole plate. Instant Sunday-dinner upgrade.

2.  On the cheese board — Pair it with a sharp cheddar, creamy brie or blue cheese. A little spoonful on a cracker turns a simple snack into something special.

3.  Everyday breakfast hero — Spread thickly on hot buttered toast, stirred into porridge, or layered with yoghurt and granola. That bright, spiced flavour makes ordinary mornings feel a bit more considered.
