Blackcurrant & Guinness Jam

This is one of our all-time favourites — and once you’ve tried it, you’ll see why. Rich, dark blackcurrants meet a generous splash of Guinness, which deepens the fruit’s natural tang and adds a soft, treacly warmth that lingers just enough to keep you coming back for another spoonful.

It’s proper moreish stuff. Here are three of our favourite ways to use it:

1.  Spread thick on warm scones or buttered toast – the classic way. The Guinness note makes every bite feel a bit special.

2.  Swirl into chocolate brownies – drop spoonfuls into the batter before baking. The jam melts into sticky, fruity pockets that turn ordinary brownies into something seriously good.

3.  Brush over roast duck or pork as a glaze – the sweet-tart stickiness caramelises beautifully and cuts through the richness like a dream.
